  • salty hair and sandy toes trying to catch the sun.. we normally take photos every year by the pier.. but they are in the process of rebuilding it
  • Light changes everything. It can make you look more toned, it can make you look cellulite-free, it can make your skin look flawless... but turn the wrong way or get the wrong light and you’ll see dimples in your legs, sun damage on your face, fat you did know you had, and your nose can look misshapen, etc. When I see before and afters, I always look at the lighting situation too- a lot of the time you’ll notice dim yellow bathroom lighting in the “before” and bright natural light or ring light in the “after”.. don’t be fooled! And don’t compare what you see in bad light with someone posting a photo with good light. Find YOUR good light. It will change your mood on how you see yourself. But also don’t beat yourself up in the bad light— it’s just that— Bad light and we all have it. Or get a photographer that can find it for you
  • When asking someone else to snap some pics, (which i'm SO thankful for!) BUT I realized what a photographer brings.. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1. QUALITY OVER QUANTITY- less outtakes lol - out of the gazillion snaps, there were maybe 2-3 that turned out- even on the camera's automatic setting 2. DIRECTION- Good Photographers can direct you into the "pose" with it looking natural.. being IN the photo, I have NO idea what my kids are doing or if one is pouting or making duck lips- i'm trusting that the one behind the camera. A photographer can direct everyone into the right pose or where to look, without mom stressing or getting frustrated. 3. Photographers ANTICIPATE the action... after the "CUE" of what to do, I'm anticipating the action AND the REACTION.. If i'm asking you to touch noses or foreheads, i'm not always capturing THAT action.. I'm looking for the genuine laughs that come after.
