McKenna 1 Year | Water Session

I am SO honored to photograph McKenna’s first year– and this water session was the ultimate way to top it off. We met up at Lake Norman– a spot that held so much sentimental value.. the place where this family started. Kaitlin and Ricky got married here and they thought it was the perfect spot to end our first year session. And I agreed! I threw out the option of my “water session” and they were totally on board. I’ so glad they were! I am so obsessed with the flowyness of fabric in the water, the way it tells a story of grace all around you. The stresses of parenthood can slip away and the grunge of the mundane can be cleansed. Grace is where a mother finds her strength. Grace is where a mother can face another day. Grace is where a mother can be the ultimate mom. Grace is like a wave, and it washes over me.
